Notary services are available for free on a first-come, first-served basis, but may not be available during all open library hours. If you would like to schedule an appointment, email notary@ghpl.org or call 614-486-2951. Appointments are suggested (to ensure a notary is on site when you stop in) but not required.

  • Library Notaries Public are NOT able to complete Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents.
  • Library Notaries Public may refuse service for any reason.
  • This service is a courtesy to our patrons. No fees shall be charged or accepted.

What should you bring?

  • A valid photo ID is required for notary services. No exceptions. Valid forms of ID include a driver’s license, state issued ID, military ID, or passport.
  • Some documents require another witness other than the notary. Please bring a witness with you if one is required. Your witness must be someone you know personally. Library staff or patrons may not be solicited to serve as witnesses.
  • Unsigned documents. Many documents need to be signed in front of the notary. DO NOT sign your document prior to meeting with the notary.
